Miné Ternar

Where have we been? 1998-1999

A viewer participatory piece:
Center: Etching on silk by the artist, sewn onto a hand-made child's blanket by the artist's mother
Memory maps drawn by gallery visitors pinned onto the fabric to create a quilt of places we have been. Instructions to the viewers read: "Draw me a map of a place where you have been, trying to remember what it was like to be there, how you got there, how you left.. Then leave it in my box to participate in the piece. (I will pin it up on the blanket.)"
Blanket: 60 x 48 inches
